What? Ridden on a horse? / Yes! / You're using coconuts!

This week as been terribly uneventful. With the exception of seeing Definitely, Maybe on Sunday and Thursday and just finding out that the role of April was NOT, in fact, played by Amy Adams, but by Isla Fisher (who I now love, by the way, and who could easily be Amy Adams' twin sister), yes....uneventful. I did watch a few episodes of The X-Files during the marathon yesterday, and the first movie has been added to my Netflix as well as the first season. I've seen many, many episodes, but never the series all the way through. My goal is to finish it before the movie comes out in July. Wish me luck. ^^

Today, I must go to a friend's birthday party in N. Chas. It's being held at Andolini's and then we're going bowling. [Note to self: Cut finger nails before leaving.] Me having no money, I decided to bake him cookies and they are terribly yummy. Hope he likes chocolate chip.

My rent is paid, and the majority of my bills are paid as of right now. All that's left is electric, but I'm still waiting on money from the roommate so that may be awhile.

Two of my friends went to visit their grandparents this week who happen to live about 45 minutes from Disney World. Seeing as it's the 2nd Year of a Million Dreams celebration, the parks are still giving out random free stuff to people. My friends got a Mickey hat and brought it back for me. I must say...I love it. ^^

In musical news, a friend of mine and I have been recording quite a bit. When I get some of the songs edited, I shall post them for whoever's (hopeful) enjoyment. ;)

Must go dry the hair.

Ciao.

Love is the Movement

"We are called to hold our hands against the wounds of a broken world, to stop the bleeding." -Love is the Movement

For those of you who have not heard of To Write Love on Her Arms, please visit their website and read their Story.

Write Love on your arms today, the day before Valentine's Day. For many singles everywhere, tomorrow is one of the suckiest days of the year. To show people that Love is everywhere, write the word Love on your arms, share their story with people who ask, and, in return, write Love on their arms.

words of the day in a way that looks different

Dreams put in paper-thin, cotton bags for safe-keeping,
Forgotten in day-to-day routines
But pulled out and dusted off
When days off are granted, and Time is treasured
For an hour or ten.

Far off places and faces
Dance on walls lit only
By candle light in small rooms -
Windows opened, music playing,
The rain outside adding soundtracks
To visions and meanderings of the mind.

Eyes droop and flutter
When dreaming turns to beautiful exhaustion.
Snuffed light, windows closed tight,
A retreat to sheets where dreaming turns
A corner to purple unicorns and streets of
Cotton candy.

It's a kiss on the cheek from the Fairy Prince,
A ride on a Bumble Bee, and a trip to
Magic Kingdoms in the sky before
Landing on my feet in Reality...

In a puddle of water...
With only one shoe...
No socks...
And I'm late for work.

Riposi In Pace, Love.

A good friend of mine passed away early Wednesday morning. The fact that I haven't seen him in years did nothing to lessen the grief. The last time I saw him was in Middle school, and that, I'm afraid, is how I still picture him which is probably why this is so difficult.

I've chosen to remember the happy times as opposed to focusing on the accident, though, and he was the happiest, most good-natured person I had the pleasure of growing up with.

Riposi In Pace, Jacob. You will be missed.
